Dollars, euros, USDT and one total in hryvnia

For people paid in dollars or euros on Payoneer and Wise, or in USDT on an exchange, who spend in hryvnia. Every account lives in its own currency, the total follows the current rate, and Runway shows how long the money lasts between projects.

Sound familiar?

What goes through your head between projects

  • Dollars on Payoneer, euros on Wise, USDT on an exchange. How much do I actually have?

  • The gap between projects is scary: I don’t know how long the money lasts.

  • The spreadsheet with the rates went stale the day I made it.

Four accounts, one total

Every account in its own currency, and the total in hryvnia

Payoneer and Wise are kept by hand, OKX is read through a key, and Monobank comes in on its own. No multiplying in your head: the app works out the total at the current rate.

  1. USD

    $2,140

    × 44.62 ≈ ₴95,487

  2. EUR

    €860

    × 52.10 ≈ ₴44,806

  3. USDT

    1,240 USDT

    × 44.62 ≈ ₴55,329

  4. UAH

Total in hryvnia≈ ₴277,640at the current rate · the rates here are for the example
  • Every account lives in its own currency, so your dollars stay dollars.
  • Totals and Runway follow the rate at the moment you look.
  • History keeps every transaction’s currency and amount; only the totals are converted.

Between projects

Runway: how long it lasts if the next payment is late

A project payment comes in, and the number grows. A gap between orders, and you see how many days you can last at your usual spending.

Runway = all your money at the current rate ÷ average daily spending.

  • Money in every currency counts at the current rate.
  • Debt is subtracted.
  • Exchanges by key and wallets you signed in with count; watch-only wallets don’t.
  • Average spending comes from your history, not from your plans.

Exchange and wallets

The exchange connects through a read-only key

You create an API key on the exchange with no trading or withdrawal rights and paste it into the app. The app checks the key’s permissions with the exchange itself, and only then connects it.

  1. Create a key on the exchange: read-only, no trading, no withdrawals.
  2. Paste the key into the app. It’s stored encrypted.
  3. The app checks with the exchange that the key can’t trade or withdraw.

What happens to a key after the check

  • Read-onlyConnected. Balances refresh every 15 minutes, trades every 6 hours.
  • Permissions unknownKraken and WhiteBIT don’t report a key’s permissions. You confirm it’s read-only, and only then is the key saved.
  • Trading or withdrawalsRefused, so create a new read-only key. If a key gains such rights later, syncing stops until you replace it.
  • Seven exchanges: Binance, WhiteBIT, Bybit, OKX, Kraken, Coinbase, KuCoin. View only: the app can’t trade or transfer.
  • Wallets are added by address on EVM chains and Solana, or through WalletConnect on the web and iPhone.
  • A watch-only wallet counts in your net worth, but not in Runway.
Degroshi for Mac: accounts with currency, source, share of assets and hryvnia equivalent

On the Mac. Every account in its own currency with its source: by hand, Monobank or an exchange. Its hryvnia equivalent sits beside it, and the totals by currency are on the left.

Income by month

Income and expenses for every month, in hryvnia

Payment comes in dollars, rent goes out in hryvnia and subscriptions in euros, but the chart shows it all in one currency. You just compare the months, with nothing to multiply in your head.

  • Income by monthAugust, September and October side by side, in hryvnia: you see what came in each month.
  • Expenses by categoryThe five biggest categories and “Other”, for the month and the year, without a riot of colour.
  • Recurring payments aheadSubscriptions in dollars and utilities in hryvnia in one list, converted at the current rate.

In every transaction the currency and amount stay as they were. Only the charts and totals are converted.

And taxes?

Sole-proprietor income lives in a separate space

If you’re a sole proprietor, a ФОП, foreign-currency income is valued differently: at the NBU rate on the day it arrives, and that rate is frozen in every transaction. That’s what the business space is for, in beta for now. It sits next to the personal one, one switch away.

The “Sole proprietor” scenario

How to start

Every account in one total, in seven minutes

≈ 7 minutes
  1. An account and Monobank

An account with email, Apple or Google takes a minute. You confirm the Monobank request in the bank’s app; from then on, statements arrive on their own. We can’t transfer money.

  2. Payoneer and Wise, by hand, in their currency

Two accounts, in USD and EUR. You log the balance and transactions yourself or import a CSV or XLSX statement on the web or the Mac. That’s two minutes.

  3. The exchange through a read-only key

You need a key with no trading or withdrawal rights. The app checks it with the exchange and reads the balances every 15 minutes. Three minutes, most of them on the exchange’s site.

  4. A wallet by address

A public address on an EVM chain or Solana is enough to see the balance. For the wallet to count in Runway, sign in with WalletConnect on the web or iPhone. One more minute.

After a week

What you will see on the screens

  • One total in hryvnia: every account at the current rate.
  • Runway on the home screen, growing with every payment.
  • Income by month in hryvnia, next to expenses.
  • Exchange balances refreshed every 15 minutes, and trades every 6 hours.
  • Every transaction keeps its currency and amount, so history is never rewritten after the fact.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Does Payoneer or Wise connect?

No. Those are manual accounts in their own currency: you log the balance and transactions yourself or import a CSV or XLSX statement on the web or the Mac. Totals are still converted at the current rate.

Which rate converts the currencies?

The current one, at the moment you look. Past transactions keep their currency and amount; only the totals and Runway are converted.

Does crypto count in Runway?

Only when verified: exchanges by key and wallets you signed in with. A wallet added by address alone counts in your net worth, but not in Runway.

Which currency are budgets in?

The space’s main currency, usually hryvnia for a personal space. Spending in other currencies counts towards the budget at the current rate.

What about taxes on foreign income?

Business income has its own space. There, foreign-currency income is valued at the NBU rate on the day it arrives and frozen in every transaction, and the personal space stays personal.

The “Sole proprietor” scenario
Can I invoice a client?

No. Degroshi keeps track of your accounts, rates and Runway; it doesn’t issue invoices or documents.
